Why I Do What I Do

There comes a time in life when you start wondering What’s next? For me, that moment hit as the empty nest approached. I had spent years being the go-to for my family, wearing the many hats of motherhood, but as my four kids flew into their own lives, I realized something—I had no idea what I would do with my days.

One thing I always knew? I wanted to write.

I share the full story in my book Sprinkle It With Sunshine, but the short version is this: what started as a passion for blogging turned into a career that filled my time and gave me confidence, independence, and a whole new sense of purpose. My blog took off, people started noticing, and suddenly I was getting questions—How do you start a blog? How do you make money blogging? What even is blogging?

At first, I answered every question one by one, even teaching six people how to launch their own blogs from scratch. Then it hit me—I should put all this into a course! That way, anyone needing a step-by-step guide could follow without feeling lost or overwhelmed.

And just like that, Simply Courses was born.

Why I Do: A Different Kind of Blogging Teacher

As you may know, there are many people out there teaching blogging, but I wanted to be different. I wanted to be approachable and real, flaws and all. I wanted to break things down in a way that didn’t assume people knew the lingo, the tech, or the insider tricks.

When I first started getting paid to blog, my confidence skyrocketed. I felt brave, more extroverted, and excited about my work—and people noticed.

That’s the transformation I want for every beginner blogger.

Now, I have a team of bloggers who help businesses grow online, and together, we support one another in the Simply Sunni vision. I’m committed to keeping these courses fresh, improving them as I learn, and creating resources that truly help people build something they love.
